Virtual Events

Due to the pandemic's current nature, the Theta Delta sisters of Alpha Delta Pi strive to follow all guidelines implemented and practice safe habits such as social distancing and staying home. To continue to build our sisterhood during these difficult times, we are proud to hold numerous virtual and contactless events throughout the semester. Some of the virtual events we had this past semester included: Initiation and Transfer Sister Celebration, Ice Cream Party, Yoga Classes, Powerpoint Nights, Civic Engagement and Voting Registration, HIIT Workouts, Taco Tuesday Cooking Class and Dinner, Pet Show & Tell, Zumba Club Classes, Social Justice Workshops, Movie Nights, Kahoot Trivia Nights, Contactless "Booing," Paint Night, and a Holiday Card Exchange.

Sisterhood Retreat & Big/Little Diamond Sister Reveal

Sisterhood Retreat is held every Spring semester shortly after Formal Recruitment is finished. It is a day-long event filled with many different activities to bond and celebrate our sisterhood. At the end of the night, Big/Little Diamond Sister Reveal occurs. It is an exciting event for the new Alphas and their new Diamond Families. This past year, the Big Diamond Sisters bought two pairs of socks that matched, one for them and the other for their new Little Diamond Sister. A large sheet was held up with the person on both sides of the sheet not revealed, just the socks to match up. Big Diamond Sisters stood on one side, and Little Diamond Sisters on the other. On the count of three, the sheet was dropped, revealing the Diamond Family's newest addition. The week following retreat was Big/Little Diamond Sister week. Each day of the week, the Big Diamond Sister dropped off a basket to their Little Diamond Sister filled with lots of ADPi goodies. At the end of the week, Little Diamond Sisters thank their Big Diamond Sister for all their gifts by celebrating Big Diamond Sister Appreciation Day.

Diamond dating is an exciting and fun time after recruitment because we meet many of the new Alphas. The moment I met Grace, it was an instant connection, and we just laughed and talked for hours! After meeting her, I knew she needed to meet the rest of my fam Caroline and Gina, because I knew they would love her too, and they did. When it came time for big little reveal, I was nervous but also confident we would be matched because we got along so well and are so similar. Then COVID-19 hit, and everyone had to go home, making it harder to grow closer with Grace. However, we stayed in contact, texting, and calling each other excited for the following semester. She’s the best little I could have asked for, and I’m so lucky to have her in my fam.” -Olivia Schnefke, Class of 2022

Mallard Ball

Mallard Ball is a special ADPi tradition across the country. It is an annual date party held at an off-campus venue where, in celebration of the hunting season, sisters and their dates dress in camouflage. Mallard Ball is a great way to enjoy time with sisters and celebrate ADPi, whether you are a hunting/camouflage fan or not.

Crush & Semi-Formal

We live for unforgettable memories made with sisters at Crush and Semi-Formal! They are events where sisters can bring a date and is held at an off-campus venue. They are such fun events to celebrate the semester.

Airband

“Airband is a panhellenic event where different Greek organizations perform a production style dance on stage for Greek Life (highly recommend searching ‘University of Delaware Airband’ on YouTube). It is such an amazing experience, within ADPi especially, to be a part of Airband, as well as a really great bonding experience, both with your sisters and other Greek Life members. Usually, Airband is on the Friday night of Greek Week and is a fun way to start the end of the spring semester!” -Megan Dunn, Airband Director

UDance

“UDance at its core is not only one special day but a year-long effort in the fight against childhood cancer. Ever since our chapter's founding at UD in 2008, we have been involved in the student-run philanthropy effort to give direct financial aid to families so that they have one less thing to worry about during their difficult times. In unity with the rest of our Greek Life and UD community, we join in the celebration formally known as UDance, including a 12-hour dance marathon and a final fundraising push to try and achieve more for the kids! That day we dance alongside the many incredible B+ Heroes and, in particular, our very own hero, Drew, who is a key motivator for our chapter! Whether through care packages, movie nights, or fishing tournaments at dawn, we as a chapter do what we can to share some joy with Drew and his family. Participating in UDance is one way in which Theta Delta gives back to those who truly deserve the world while also raising awareness in our shared mission to put a stop to childhood cancer.” -Jill Canavari, UDance Chair
